Wayfarer watches are designed to be highly reliable and durable as well as a colourful, trendy and fun accessory for a fast-paced lifestyle.

The brand’s heritage is based on the archetype of the nomadic journeymen that ply their trade as they travel the world. Always ready to move on to the next horizon and a new adventure, making the most of their time on this mortal coil.

The brand logo is a combination of the ‘W’ from the name, and the shape of an hourglass, which symbolises the perpetual movement of time as it slips from the present into the past and acts as a reminder of its fleeting nature.

Process

Some examples of the process I followed in creating assets for this project.

The thumbnail sketches illustrate the exploration of the two elements of the logo, the letter ‘W’ and the hourglass shape.

The wireframe and clay model of the watch show the different stages in the creation of the 3D model and its structure.
